Vintage Design
The black farmer chairs with the corresponding table are in very good condition. The wooden strips show minimal signs of wear. The seat and back surfaces of the armchairs are made of black canvas which has been stretched into the wooden strips and has an attractive patina. The armchairs consist of 8 slats and 4 corner posts made of solid ash wood which are put together in an ingenious system. The canvas of the seats was stretched over one another.
The German designer Gerd Lange designed this model in the mid-1960s for the Stuttgart manufacturer Bofinger in a groundbreaking design that was far ahead of later Scandinavian designs. Gerd Lange is one of the outstanding German designers who has worked with top manufacturers and has received several awards for his designs.
