Pierre Guariche’s work has risen in popularity as reissues bring light to his magnificent body of work. The Tulipe Chair is one such piece that has become popular despite it being used differently than originally intended. The Tulipe Chair was originally completely upholstered with a soft padding. Only recently are people using these chairs in their raw form, bringing new meaning to what honest design is.
The cast aluminum shows signs of the manufacturing process and this patina is desired. The base, painted a navy blue, is unlikely to be original but makes this specific example unique.
