Vintage Design
This crystal table is a design furniture designed by Theodore Waddel and produced by the Italian Company Cassina in 1973. Table model 713 made of chromed metal and cut crystal. The table has six legs, three of which are suspended – supporting the circular crystal top – while the other three resting on the ground but separated from the top. The result is a spectacular balance, of great elegance and impact. Published on: G. Bosoni, Made in Cassina, Milano 2008, pp. 246-247. Dimensions: cm 135 x 72 x 135. In very good condition, except for a minor chip on crystal edge. Theodore Waddell (1930-) is an American architect and Industrial designer also appreciated as a photographer. He worked in Italy for over 15 years, and then he returned to the USA where today lives and works. Five of his lamps were exhibited at the Musée des Arts Decoratifs in Paris, and two are in the permanent collection at the MoMA in New York, which dedicated a special exhibition to him in 1969.
