Vintage Design
Set of 2 palatial Empire style nightstands, France, late 19th / begining of the 20th century. Solid mahogany and mahogany veneer with inlays and parquetry in various precious woods, gold bronze mounts, black marble tops. Classical Empire decor, gold bronze in the form of wreaths, rosettes, bows and meander, raised backplash, fluted and tapered legs. Mildly cleaned, french polish revived, gold bronze retouched with gold pigment, marble tops polished, one marble top reglued, light wear consistent to age, patina.
