These items are raw and sturdy. Their rugged textures and bold lines define that radical character. Their presence is uncompromising and captivating. Sculptural qualities define these objects. A vivid dynamic between the different volumes and surfaces, showing different qualities from different angles. Their expressive form offers a complex geometry shaped by light and shadows. All massive wood parts are authentic. They are done in Indian teak. Rich in texture, the wood is vivid and comes in cognac colour. The surface is treated with shellac and there are several layers of original shellac. It provides smooth irregular gloss different from that of the sterile lacquerware nowadays. Charming irregularities show that each piece is unique. The profile of the legs is thin. They are narrow at the base and get wider as they are getting closer to the seat, which is supported by three rounded holders. A cross-like element connects the legs above the ground, providing stability. The outer edges are rounded, while the inner ones are sharp. The surface of the seat is done in cane. Contrasting the massive wooden parts, which frame it nicely, cane expresses a lightness with its transparency. The geometrical patterns of the canework create a charming shadowscape. We do the caning like it was done in Chandigarh. We use durable and thicker cane. I think the pieces blend well with many interior styles. They can support pure, modern aesthetics by giving them a warmer character with their natural materials and warm colours. As stools, they can be fitted in any interior space, as their functions are various. P!
