The whole chair could be molded as one, with only the feet attaching later.
The S-shaped cross section gives the legs strength stability and stack ability.
Made from just a single piece of compression-moulded 3 mm thick reglar (fiberglass-reinforced polyester) and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
The shape of the elastic back rest is very comfortable. thanks to this innovative industrial production
method, suggested by magistretti, ‘Selene’ was one of the most affordable industrial products
of its time.

The Selene chair was shown in the Italian Design Exhibition in New York in 1968 and was honoured in the Compasso d’Oro competition Milan.
It also appears in the MOMA permanent design collection and the Vitra museum
Made in 1969 in the first year of production for the furniture group Artemide because the Patent was Pending. (see pics)
