Pair of Paper Knife Lounge Chairs by Kai Kristiansen For Magnus Olesen 1962 Model 121 Teak Mid Century Retro Vintage MCM
A pair of iconic and striking Danish ‘Paper Knife’ teak chairs designed by Kai Kristiansen and manufactured by Magnus Olesen produced in 1962.
The cushions are newly reupholstered in an off-white coloured fabric, the cushions all removable and reversible.
The original springs are all present to the underside, and are in perfect working order.
The pieces are symbolised by their delicate ‘knife like’ teak armrests, this contrasting beautifully with the upholstery. The frame is strong and sturdy, and features striking open framework to the rear of the chairs
The arms and legs are original and authentically by Kai Kristiansen for Magnus Olesen. However, at some point in the past, the back rest and seat of the chairs have been replaced so the makers marks are no longer present.
