A wall hung mirror / shelf designed by Paul McCobb for Bryce Originals in 1953. Paul McCobbs designs for Bryce Originals are quite hard to find, this wall hung mirror / shelf design is one of the rarer designs for Bryce Originals. The piece is composed of a black painted metal frame with a pivoting mirror and a metal shelf with a mirrored glass insert. Some of the pieces for Bryce Originals were displayed in an ad in JET magazine in 1953, this wall hung mirror is not in the ad, but other mirrors similar to this one are in the ad, apparently the shelf inserts were made of black or white vitrolite glass. The vitrolite glass shelf insert is missing on this piece and has been replaced with mirrored glass at an unknown time or place or, possibly, could be original ?
